Voytov Igor Vitalievich

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Economic Geography of Belarus and the Commonwealth States (2002 – 2016). From 2002 to 2014 he was the head of the department.

Was born on August 15, 1961 in Minsk. In 1983 he graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, in 1996 – the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.

In 1983–1984 – Engineer of the Central Research Institute for the Integrated Use of Water Resources of the Ministry of Land Reclamation and Water Resources of the USSR.

Then, until 1993, he worked at the State Committee for Nature Protection of the BSSR. In 1991 he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of technical sciences (the topic “Management of the rational use and protection of small rivers in Belarus: geotechnological and economic aspects”)

From 1993 to 1994 he headed the Department of Economics and Organization of Nature Management of the State Committee for Ecology of the Republic of Belarus.

In 1994–2002 – First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus. In 2000 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences (the topic “Scientific foundations for the rational management and protection of water resources of transboundary rivers to achieve sustainable development and environmentally safe water supply in Belarus”).

Since 2002 – Vice-Rector for Economics and Commercial Activities of the Belarusian State University.

In 2005–2009 – Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.

From 2009 to 2013 – Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.

Since 2014 – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Scientific and Educational Cooperation of the Belarusian State Technological University.

Since 2016 – Rector of the Belarusian State Technological University.
