On April 12, scientists celebrated Science Day in Kazakhstan. This holiday was held under the auspices of the 125th anniversary of Kanysh Imantaevich Satpayev, a mining engineer-geologist, founder of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.

On April 12, the World Academy of Mining Sciences (WAMS) held an international round table “Physico-chemical geotechnology – innovations and development trends” at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU). This area of mining science is extremely relevant and involves the transition to closed systems for the extraction of mineral raw materials, eliminating the rise of ore to the surface. Speakers – representatives of various schools of geotechnology from a number of countries shared their achievements in this area.

As a continuation of the Round Table, meetings of the presidiums of the National and World Academies of Mining Sciences were held. The presidents of the academies of mining sciences took part in the work of the presidiums: Georgia – academician Chikhradze N.M. , Kazakhstan – academician Ryspanov N.B., Mongolia – academician Ochirbat P., Russia – academician G.F.
